Grammar reference books
A good teacher's grammar book will come in handy for preparing your lessons. Either of:
- Grammar for English Language Teachers, Martin Parrott (CUP)
- Practical English Usage, Michael Swan (OUP)
Methodology
Access to an English language teaching methodology book is also recommended. Either of:
- How to Teach English, Jeremy Harmer (Longman)
- Learning Teaching, Jim Scrivener (Heinemann).
Resources Centre
In the Library and Resources Centre (that's downstairs on A floor), there is an extensive section of ELT methodology and other books.The library is open Mon-Fri 08.30 to 21.30, and Sat 09.30-13.30.
