Other TEFL courses

Apart from Cambridge CELTA, International House Barcelona runs a series of other TEFL courses in Barcelona, full details of which you will find on our main TEFL teacher training site.

Of particular note, apart from CELTA are the following:

CELTA YL extension course

After CELTA, there is a 30-hour a week, 2-week Young Learners (YL) extension course for anyone wanting the sort of additional, specific training and skills that teaching young learners requires.

CELT YL course

As an alternative to CELTA, there is also the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Young Learners (8-13 year olds). Like CELTA itself, the CELTYL course lasts four weeks. If you really think you have a love of children, and think it might be your vocation, you maybe want to do this course rather than CELTA.

DELTA course

After CELTA and, say, a couple of years of teaching experience there is then the Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) course.

IH Barcelona offers a part-time DELTA course, two mornings a week over approximately 20 weeks (a total of 120 hours) and a full-time, eight-week course, with a daily schedule of three hours' input and two hours' teaching practice.
